St. Thomas, Ontario (March 31, 2021) — ARVA Industries Inc. announced today that it has been awarded a multiyear contract by MTA New York City Transit. The contract is for the design, production and delivery of 12 Hybrid Rail Crane cars by the end of 2023.

Under the terms of the contract, design and production of the first crane car is scheduled to begin immediately. The first delivery is expected in July 2022, after which approximately one new crane car will be delivered per month. The cars were purchased to support all critical track work in support of the MTA Capital Program and maintenance throughout the New York City Transit subway system.

“New York City Transit’s subway system has more stations than any transit system in the world, and provided more than one billion rides per year before the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Paul J. Smith President, Arva. “ARVA is excited to partner with the MTA to provide emission free Hybrid Crane Cars for a safe, efficient work environment, a key goal for this contract design.”
